Crafting Excellence on Water

Vessels built on theBrahmaputra.

We are boat and ship builders in Dispur, Assam. Cruise vessels, ferries, house boats and working craft — designed, fabricated and launched on the river they are made for.

Built for

  • Sample Waterways Authority
  • Sample State Transport Corp.
  • Sample Port Trust
  • Sample Maritime Board

Sample logos. These are invented organisations, shown to lay out the section. None is a real body and none is a River Nautics client — the yard's actual partners replace them.

A river is not a sea. We build for the one in front of us.

Shallow draught, silted channels, monsoon flow, a working season that closes when the water drops — the Brahmaputra and the Barak set conditions no catalogue hull answers well.

Every vessel we take on starts from the route it will run, the passengers or cargo it will carry, and the bank it will be built on. Then it is fabricated by our own people, a few hundred metres from the water it will float in.

In the yard

Built where it will float.

Frames set out on the bank, plate cut and welded on site, the superstructure raised in the open. Nothing is trucked in finished. When the river comes up, the vessel is already where it needs to be.

Seven stages take a vessel from first conversation to handover — and we stay with it afterwards, for survey, repair and refit.

The build process
Looking down the open deck of a vessel under construction, beneath her arched canopy and peaked roof, with the river on both sides.A vessel afloat at the riverbank with her arched canopy fitted and bamboo staging still alongside, hills rising on the far bank.

Tell us about the river, and what you need to carry on it.

Send us the outline of your project. It reaches us on WhatsApp and we will come back to you with the next question, not a brochure.
